Each generation asks of the previous generation, three questions:

You can discover the answers to these questions, and others, through God’s Word. See how God’s Word can help you experience the most out of your marriage relationship.

COMING SOON!

Christ at the Center: Prayer, April 9, 2016
presented by Bob Kosbau, Marshalltown Evangeliccal Free Church, Marshalltown, IA

“Prayer is like a life-line of communication with God.”

Most relationships that are thriving do so because of effective communication. Conversely, relationships that struggle usually struggle with ineffective communication. This year’s marriage retreat will help you learn how humble communication can help get you through the challenges of life with … PRAYER. This can help strengthen your marriage, your family, all your important relationships.

Prayer can help keep Jesus Christ at the center of your life, and display God’s love for all to see.

Christ at the Center, April 8, 2016
presented by Rev. Dr. Richard A. King, First Presbyterian Church, Marshalltown, IA

Session Notes

One of God’s purposes for marriage is to show the world the kind of relationship He seeks with every human being ever created. How a husband loves his wife is meant to display to those watching how God loves His Church; and how a wife respects her husband is meant to display how we are to respect God.

By ourselves, and with only our own resources, this will never happen. But … with Christ at the Center of our lives individually and collectively as a couple, our world can see.

If this is the type of marriage you want, then this retreat is for you

  2. Quote from Pastor King last night at the retreat: “If Christ is not at the center of our life personally, He cannot be at the center of any relationship we have. ”

My takeaway: If Christ is going to have any impact on my marriage and parenting, then HE needs to be at the center of ALL of me.

    My prayer:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!”
    Psalm 139 23-24 ESV
