Lennox/Quakerdale Invitational Pro-Am Golf Committee
(Marshalltown, IA) – On Thursday, June 16, 27 teams of 135 golfers from around the US and Canada gathered at the Elmwood Country Club in Marshalltown, IA to participate in the 29th Annual Lennox/Quakerdale Invitational Pro-Am Golf Tournament. The event raised $90,000 for Quakerdale, totaling more than $1,700,000 over the last 29 years to assist them in “encouraging hope, faith, and growth in the families and communities they serve.” Pictured from left to right are Lance Horbach, Independent Insurance Services, Co-Chair, Lennox/Quakerdale Golf Committee; Miguel Gutierrez, General Plant Manager, Lennox Industries Inc., Marshalltown; Rob Talbot, Executive Director, Quakerdale; and Lee Eft, District Manager, Lennox Industries Inc., Co-Chair, Lennox/Quakerdale Golf Committee.
Title sponsors Lennox International and Lennox Industries Inc., Marshalltown invited Lennox dealers and corporate executives, Lennox suppliers, and other local Marshalltown individuals and businesses to come for a day of golf, fun, and a first class evening banquet and program. This year’s PGA celebrity was Tom Purtzer from the Champions Tour. Mr. Purtzer was born in Des Moines, and is a 14 time winner on the PGA and Champions Tours. He started as a professional in 1973, after graduating from Arizona State University. Tom is currently a resident of Scottsdale, AZ. He is widely referred to as having “the sweetest swing in golf”, and has the reputation of being one of the most sought-after Pro-Am golfers. When not playing full time on the Champions Tour, he and his brother Paul (also a PGA Professional) run Purtzer Performance Golf out of Stonecreek Golf Club in Phoenix.

Bobby Hansen, University of Iowa Radio Network Analyst.
Chuck Long, former University of Iowa quarterback, member of the College Football Hall of Fame, and was a 1st round NFL draft pick by the Detroit Lions. Mr. Long also played with the Los Angeles Rams in his eight-year career in the NFL. He is currently CEO/Executive Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation and an analyst for the Big Ten Network.
